Who We Are
West Houston church is a 500+ member multi-cultural Seventh-day Adventist church located in Houston – the fourth largest city in the United States of America. Established in 1991, we are a Christian congregation that is preparing the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ. We really believe that Jesus is coming again and we are therefore seriously focused on preparing disciples for His return.
We advocate strong participation in any of our 27 ministries, daily communion with God and exhibiting the fruits of the spirit in daily life. Our ministries include a world class Children’s Church that draws people from all over Houston and a Homeless ministry that is a blessing to those in need, just to name a couple.
Our view of multicultural ministry recognizes and respects the inclusion of all diverse groups. If you happen to walk into our Sabbath school bible study on Saturday mornings, you will see and hear a variety of accents and notice different hues of believers teaching and discussing the word of God. Si usted habla español tenemos una clase de escuela sabática y el culto de la iglesia todos los sábados.
Not only are we multicultural, we are global. Our west-Houston-based congregation is part of a 17 million ethnically diverse world church located in nearly every country on the globe. Demographically speaking, West Houston church truly resembles heaven in that it is comprised of a plethora of ethnicities from all walks of life, economic backgrounds and spiritual gifts. In fact, our annointed British senior pastor, Ashwin Somasundram, has an Indian ethnic background with a South African heritage!
We welcome you to worship with us at our church and experience the joy of communion with God.
