Our Ministries (a-e)
West Houston’s Adventurers (Tigers) Club is a family ministry. The Tigers Club uses creative activities (camping, crafts, field trips, discussions, and games) to support families in the spiritual development of children ages 4-9.
The purpose of the program is to support parents and care-givers in leading and encouraging their children in a growing, joyful love relationship with Jesus Christ. It offers instructional curriculum, family enrichment, supplementary resources, and volunteer training from within the Seventh-day Adventist philosophy. The Adventurer program should work to fulfill the gospel commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and depends on the support of a congregation strong in mission and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS AND/OR PARTICIPATION
To be a member of the "Tigers" Adventurers Club a child needs to be in grades preK-4th. Although the Adventurer Club is sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist church, children of all faith are encouraged to join.
The kids are grouped according to their age as follow:
The club operates during the traditional school year, September through June. Annual registration is held during the month of August; however the club will never turn away a family that wants to join after the registration period. Club meetings are held two Sundays per month, generally from 10 am to noon.
Club meetings are fun filled and creative where kids learn about the Bible, health, nature and people skills through camping, nature, arts & crafts, games and conference events.
The Tigers Club activities are designed to help the children:
